Design development towards final sculpture

After working with Sweeney in the structured workshops, I started to create designs towards my final sculpture for task 1 of my brief. I had all the techniques which I could progress to further development. My idea for the final would be based on architecture and the shapes and forms which can be found in this genre of design. I've used the folding pleats technique folding alternatively like an accordion. By standing the sculptures tall I could achieve a building like look. Also the way I've taken the photographs creates illusions of depth and scales. By using the pleated papaer it creates a reapeated patteren through out the design. The design appraoch I took was very modern and wouldn't really be considered in old tradional architecture.

I've used two pieces of paper in this sculpture and black and a white, not really intentional but it acts as a yin and yang. Using a Macro setting on my camera in this shot this creates a good vision of scales.

Different angles in the shots. I really like how i've folded the pleated paper its gives great curves and an archectural look.
Shooting the design in Black and white creates a contrast between the different colours of the sculptues. The B&W adds lots of tones and shows the light and shadows up more.
I used a white back ground so that the sculpture appears bigger and stands out more.
